catching up and crafts...

Ok so Thanksgiving and Black Friday got the best of me and I got a little pulled away from blogging. I had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving with my family, then met up with my friend Amanda at Toys R Us to sit out in the cold waiting for the store to open. We were 2nd in line and got everything we went for... and then some for me lol. My aunt met us shortly after we got there to wait and shop with us as well and she was able to get everything she went for too. They did things much better this year. They only allowed 50 people in at a time and gave pauses between groups of 50 which was MUCH better since last year being first in line I felt like I was going to be trampled. After Toys R Us I took a trip up to Arrundle Mills to check out Children's Place and Disney store. I was able to get a few things for the girls and get Nathan the full sized Buzz and Woody action figures for Christmas. All in all I saved about $100 and didn't spend much more than that so I did great!

On to my craft project.... I made my first ring sling and can tell you, it wont be my last! It took me several hours to make but it turned out great so now I'll be making one as a baby gift, then for a friend along with one for her daughter for her dolls. I'm thinking I might start making them for friends for cost or a little over and see how it goes and how I like doing them all the time and if all goes well, make them to sell. I used this tutorial for the "shoulder" and the rest was pretty straight forward. Here are a few pictures of the finished product.

Thankful

Going into tomorrow I can't help but to think of everything I have to be thankful of. The list is just never ending but I wanted to share with everyone some of the things I have to be thankful for.

  1. My wonderful husband who puts up with all my "blonde" comments and mood swings... pregnant or not.
  2. My adorable son who, to me, is the most perfect 22 month old I've ever known. He is cute, smart and at this very moment has me smiling inside and out as he dances along to "never had a friend like me" on Aladdin.
  3. My precious Caitlyn, who despite her "I want what I want" attitude (I know, already) has her absolutely sweet moments and I am thankful every moment for her.
  4. My sweet little Christin who is so calm, patient and precious, even at only 2 months old. I absolutely love the way she just shares at me and it just makes my heart melt.
  5. I'm thankful that through patience, resistance and support from my husband I am able to exclusively breastfeed my twins.
  6. Having a wonderful family who is loving, understanding and supportive.
  7. Friends who care about my family and I, and are there for us. Especially thankful for Jessi from Caterpillar Family for saving me with great hats for my girls for tomorrow ;)
I know I have SO much more to be thankful for but those are on the top of my list. What are you thankful for?

Gobble gobble

I have been bit by the craft bug lately so I made a turkey hair bow for the girls to wear on Thanksgiving. Now for me to make another so they each have one... And perhaps one for myself since it's pretty cute!

And for Christmas....

Errands

Today was a pretty good day. Will was off work so I was able to run some errands and leave the kiddos at home with him. I've been playing with the idea of making ring slings and selling them in an Etsy shop. I got the fabric to make one for myself and one as a baby gift for someone else and if they turn out well I think I'm going to go for it! Money has bit tighter than normal going into these holidays and I'm sure it won't pick up in time to help for this year, but it'd be great if I could make some money to help contribute and maybe a little "mad money." I also got ribbon to make the girls hair bows for the holidays and hope to have some done tomorrow. Pics to come once done!

A pic I had to share, Christin sticking her tongue out.

And Caitlyn hogging my side of the bed this morning... I slept at the foot of the bed after their 4am feeding!

First post...

Ok so I'm new to this whole blog thing. I have several friends who do it and I figured I'd give it a try. I guess I'll start with telling about myself. My name is Angie and I'm 25 years old. I've been married for 3 years to my wonderful (most days lol) husband Will and we have 3 beautiful children together. Our oldest, Nathan, is 22 months old and full of personality. He loves music, dancing and all things Disney. We are also blessed with 8 week old twin girls... and yes, they are identical. I am a somewhat crafty momma who loves sewing and other fun projects. I'm an avid babywearer and have this new drive to share that love and knowledge with other moms and mom to be's who have NO idea what they are missing out on. I guess that's enough for now and hopefully one of my blogger friends will clue me in to what this whole thing is about soon. I'll leave you with some pics of my wonderful kiddos.
